kind words

Leigh (mother of twins) wrote these words to share with her 2300+ friends on facebook:

Yay! Our night nanny and baby sleep specialist, Janelle, just got her website and blog up. And she is going to be offering online workshops to help parents have happy babies and sleepers. She is truly the baby whisperer. Seriously, it was one of the best investments we have made in having not only happy babies but a happy household! Check her out! She worked with the twins from 6-10 weeks old and they have been amazing sleepers ever since. They love to go to bed. It is such a blessing every night to take the babies up to bed, read a story, rock and sing, then just put them in their beds and say nighty night and leave. Rarely hear a peep until 7 am. Raising twins is exhausting enough without a bedtime battle.

From Shelby (mother of twins):

When we met Janelle, we were sleep deprived and at the end of our rope. One of our twin boys was a very challenging sleeper. He was waking 6-8 times a night and was becoming more and more dependent on us and his pacifier to help him fall asleep and stay asleep. We had read several different books and followed their recommendations to a tee, but nothing was working with Brady. Beckett’s sleep was getting interrupted from Brady’s frequent night wakings so we had to move Beckett to another room. We were also having the same problems with Brady during the day with his naps. We had hit a wall in which we could not continue with the course we were on. We did not know what else to try.

That’s when we called on Janelle to help us out. We felt an immediate sense of relief after talking with her. She assured us that she could help us out within a matter of days, not weeks. Our immediate goals were to get Brady sleeping through the night without using a cry it out method and to have both boys sleeping in the same room. Janelle was right, in a matter of a few nights; she had both boys sleeping through the night in the same room. We were amazed! We had her stay with us for twelve consecutive nights, because we wanted to make sure the boys were settled in with their new schedule. Life in our house changed drastically in the 12 days Janelle stayed with us! Brady and Beckett were sleeping through the night with 11 hours of sleep and waking up happy and content. Consequently, we were also sleeping through the night which was utter bliss!

Janelle has a very gentle and nurturing presence about her. She has the ability to calm babies and parents alike. We learned so much from Janelle during her time with us. She has so much insight and experience to share with parents. We still call on Janelle to help us navigate life with our twin boys. We feel very comfortable consulting with her when we run into bumps in the road. Her insight and experience continues to be invaluable. She truly has a passion for teaching babies and parents! We feel so incredibly blessed to have Janelle in our lives as a teacher to us and our baby boys.

From Cara (mother of triplets):

To whom it may concern,

My husband and I discovered Janelle about 3 months after I had triplets. It was quickly apparent that she was the best thing that could’ve happened to us at that point in time. As you know, newborn triplets can be a daunting challenge. We were fortunate to have a lot of help from our families, but Janelle made life so much easier!

We hired Janelle just for “night-duty” but she helped us out in many ways. Not only did she teach us to help our babies sleep through the night, but she also provided excellent care for them during the daytime when she was in Wichita. In addition, she provided us with valuable insights she has gained over her many years caring for children.

Initially we were looking for someone to help us short-term, but we have continued to take advantage of Janelle’s willingness to help with our children when the opportunity arises. Our only wish is that she lived in Wichita with us!

If you have any questions about Janelle, or triplets in general, please do not hesitate to call me at 316.204.####.

Good luck!

From Kelsi:

Our daughter had followed what I would describe as a very standard pattern of sleeping. We had phases where she would sleep “through the night” but at about 7 months old, she was waking several times a night and was not yet fully transferred to her crib. This created a lot of anxiety and sleepless nights for mom and dad at a time when we were both back to full time work and travel. I have to admit I hesitated bringing a stranger into my home to work with my infant daughter. But the instant Janelle arrived I felt an incredible wave of calm. Her methods were gentle and effective. Janelle had opinions about what we were and were not doing, but those opinions were supported with rationality and nothing but the highest level of care for our number one priority; our daughter. I did not have to worry about my daughter crying hysterically for one minute of time. Janelle’s approach made logical sense, but did not require any level of “crying it out”. We had her stay in our home to coach us for three days. After that, she left us on our own, but we did not need to do anything invasive, because on night four, our sweet babe slept 11 straight hours! Janelle touched base with us regularly after her stay. It was so heartwarming to hear from her because she truly cares about our child, our family and effectiveness of her guidance. She is incredibly passionate about her services and her advice. Our daughter is now 16 months old and we still keep in touch with Janelle. There have been nights and phases when our daughter has awaken during the night but most of these nights relate to a sickness, teething or another disruption that is temporary. Without the guidance of Janelle we would not have recognized these times when our daughter needed our attention or intervention the most. Janelle was truly a blessing and I would recommend her services to EVERY new parent. She has a very special touch and gentle approach that I was unable to find in any book available (trust me I bought them all!)

From Lisa:
Janelle – We really cannot thank you enough!!! Ben’s progress has more than exceeded our expectations and I am so appreciative! 7:35pm until 7:20am. I’ll take that!!! He woke once at 5 something, but by the time I was up and heading his direction, he had gone back to sleep!!! You are amazing!!!Just an FYI… I had a friend of my mom’s daughter email me about you, and this is what I sent :
I could not have been more skeptical, but I am absolutely coming around. Especially considering I’m sitting here with the baby that is asleep, who would’ve normally been awake. The stuff she has to say it’s not earth shattering or that out of the ordinary, but I feel like she knows her shit, and it’s nice to have someone that can of evaluate the situation and tell you exactly what to do. We pare finishing day three, and I feel like the money has been so worth it!!! She is a coach in every sense of the word. It is only my experience, and every baby is different, but I wish someone would have told me about her months ago!
